An ART EXPERIENCE in 3 acts
In the submitted text, Barbara Krammer compares her emotions and thoughts when looking at a painting with those of a visit to the opera.
How do the emotions experienced change over time?
The intensity of the enjoyment of art diminishes after the visit. What memories remain?
Here is a short excerpt: Original text/introduction by Barbara Krammer
When we go to the opera, the first impression and perception during the performance is not what we remember. While the great crescendo, the united voices of the entire chorus or the timpani beat take up our entire sensory system in the moment, it is often the small, simple melodies that we carry home with us. Visual art does the same thing, doesn’t it? Armed with cameras and cell phones, it’s easy to take the painting home with you, but…
“Opera lives in the moment.”…
Barbara Krammer shares her unconventional approach to her chosen artwork and reveals her very personal, imaginative art experience.
