“That’s how I felt on Saturday.”
“What do you mean?”
“I went shopping for presents.”
“But you weren’t out there alone.”
That’s right. There were many, far too many people out and about. And I didn’t let them divert me from my path. Armed with my list, I traveled through the unknown worlds of the shopping center.”
“Was your journey successful?”
“Yes, but not as beautiful as this painting.”

“I haven’t seen Sophia for a long time.”
“She is still happy and full of energy.”
“Just like this picture. I just have to look at it.”
“How does our conversation move from cookies to art?”
“In the right quantities, both are irresistible.”

“Is that a bass violin?”
“No. A cello.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I’m quite sure. Look at the size. And it’s played sitting down.”
“That’s right. So now we’ve gone from cookies to musical instruments.”
“And it’s highly enjoyable. Art creates a good mood.”

“I like this painting. It’s upsetting and calming at the same time.”
“Like the Advent season… Shopping stress or a cozy Advent snack.”
(short pause) “Christmas is just a week away.”
“I’m looking forward to the festive meal and a few contemplative days without appointments.”
“But with punch and with dear friends.”
“Good idea. Let’s continue this great art experience with a strong punch at the Christmas market.”
“That sounds wonderful… like the ‘magic of Christmas’.”
